How To Get Rid Of Rats

How To Get Rid Of Rats
How To Get Rid Of Rats
Rats can be real nuisance. They chew wires and pipes, leave droppings and mess, as well as there being concerns about hygiene.  Here are a few tips to keep them away.
  • Water.  If you get rid of their water supply you will probably get rid of the rats as well.  Dry up puddles, stop taps dripping and make sure rainwater isn't building up in gutters and hollows in rooves.
  • Food.  Don't leave food scraps lying about, clean up after meals and keep rubbish in metal dustbins with tight-fitting lids.  Keep cupboard doors shut and latch them fastened shut if rats are still getting in.
  • Holes.  Block up holes along their runs with cement, concrete and sheet metal; things they can't chew through.  Clues to the route of their run are droppings, mess and greasy marks on skirting boards and around holes from their fur.  More information on keeping rats away is available from Hammer Technologies' Twitter Page.
  • Repellent flooring.  New rat-repellent flooring looks like a promising solution to get rid of rats.  It will be useful even when the above solutions fail. They often do, even with the best will in the world and concerted effort they are often still able to find their way in.  Visit Hammer Technologies' website to find out more about this new perimetric deterrent system.
