Man Vs. Rat |
Rats generate a huge quantity of harm to property around the world every day. A scientific paper from 2009 demonstrated around $9 billion of ruination each year in the United States alone. This is in spite of trapping, poisoning and repellents; all the technology mankind has to throw at them. Rats also cause around 35 diseases which are spread in their urine, spittle and faeces. They cause so much damage because their teeth grow at five inches each year and they need to work hard to wear them down.
They are particularly resilient little beasts being able to live through flushing down the WC. They even have the ability to come back into the property back up the U-bend. They can also go for longer than a camel without water and don't sweat. They use their tails for control of their body heat. Dilatation and constriction of the blood vessels alters the blood flow and regulates the heat loss.
