Rats; The Truth

Rats; The Truth
Rats; The Truth
Many people think of rats as nasty little animals, deliberately ruining crops and equipment. This simply isn't true.  This view is partly due to the negative way in which rats are seen in our culture. This is due to their role in spreading the plague.

Rats are actually highly social individuals. They enjoy the company of humans as well as other rats.  They talk to each other by chattering their incisors together. They also use their tails and wobble their eyes from side to side.  Many people in the western hemisphere keep rats as pets due to their friendly, hygienic and intelligent nature.

The reason they chew wires and other hard materials is because their teeth grow continuously throughout their lives. This is at a rate of 5 inches per year and they need to work hard to wear them down, not through malicious intent as many people believe.  Unfortunately this leads to billions of pounds worth of damage to cars every year.

As well as this they damage commercial, industrial and residential equipment, installations and property.  This is despite all the trapping, poisoning and deterrents known to mankind.

A new invention is setting out to solve this; it creates a rat-free zone around your property to keep it un-chewed.
